Support Engineer / DevOps (UNIX Linux bash Python AWS). Would you like to work on a complex geo-location software for a successful start-up within a supportive, technology driven environment with flexible working conditions and lots of training with the latest tech including Kubernetes?
The core product is an innovative Cloud (AWS) based solution that allows the tracking of equipment and personnel for large scale organisations; as a Support Engineer / DevOps you'll monitor multiple sites running a software as a service application providing real time location and tasking for porter teams at NHS hospitals. You'll take pre-emptive action to maintain the availability of the service to customers, partner with the development team to improve ability to monitor the system, spot evolving problems and predict system behaviour.
The architecture of the system is a collection of microservices running in Docker containers on Kubernetes; you'll learn on the job and gain exposure to a wide range of technology.
You will be based in Central Oxford, close to main line station; there's an R&D environment with casual dress code and a good work / life balance.
*Experience as a Support Engineer
*Good knowledge of Linux OS, comfortable working at the UNIX command line
*Scripting / coding skills with Python, bash or similar
*Understanding of system security
*Degree educated, Computer Science preferred
*Excellent communication skills
*Nice to have: TCP/IP networking, IPTables, Wireshark, AWS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, experience monitoring production systems
