Market Data Lead (SQL Front Office) London to £130k

Are you an experienced market data professional looking to take ownership of data quality, delivery and service improvement within a leading investment management environment?

As Market Data Lead, you'll work closely with Trading, Global Research, Middle Office, Risk and Compliance to ensure teams have access to accurate, timely and reliable financial data. Supporting both Macro and Systematic strategies, you'll play a key role in improving data processes, managing data services and ensuring critical market and economic data meets the needs of the business.

You'll engage directly with data users to identify requirements, source and query relevant datasets across internal databases and third-party tick data platforms. You'll lead the specification, prioritisation and delivery of data related projects and production changes, overseeing testing, quality assurance and approval before release.

You'll also evaluate new data sources and services, assessing their suitability, cost and implementation requirements. Working closely with the offshore Data Operations team, you'll oversee processes for validating, reconciling and updating security and economic data, acting as the escalation point for complex operational issues.

A key part of the role will be driving continuous improvement across data accuracy, timeliness and efficiency, strengthening controls and ensuring dependable data delivery to investment teams.

Location / WFH:

You'll join colleagues in prestigious Central London offices (with onsite restaurant, gym etc.) with flexibility to work from home once a week.

About you:

• You have achieved a 2.1 or above in a relevant field e.g. Data, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analysis or other quantitative discipline
• You have strong experience as a within financial services, supporting front office or market data functions
• You have a good understanding of financial instruments, market data, pricing and time series data
• You're highly proficient with SQL and querying large datasets
• You have experience working with trading, research, risk or compliance stakeholders
• You have experience managing data projects, production changes, testing and quality assurance
• You have excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail
• You can manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with both technical and business users
• You have experience with market data vendors (e.g. Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE or similar)
