Staff Engineer / Developer (Python AI LLM) Madrid / WFH to €100,000

You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on role at a successful and growing holiday rentals platform as they scale, with over 50,000 users and recent funding of over $350 million.

Your role:

As a Staff Engineer, you'll own the architecture and technical direction of a multi-agent AI platform, designing and scaling core systems including an agent orchestrator, LLM gateway, evaluation framework and observability stack, ensuring AI features are reliable, measurable and production ready.

What You'll Do:

• Lead architecture for a multi-agent AI platform (orchestration, tooling, observability)
• Build scalable, production-grade LLM infrastructure
• Define evaluation frameworks (quality gates, prompt testing, hallucination detection)
• Own LLM gateway strategy (routing, failover, cost control)
• Enable AI adoption across teams with clear patterns and tooling
• Drive best practices in prompting, testing, and observability
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar

Location / WFH:

You can work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the Madrid office 1-2 days a week.

About you:

• You're a senior software engineer with experience at Staff or Principal level
• You have expertise with backend Python, building production grade services
• You have experience delivering LLM / AI systems in production (prompting, evaluation, observability, cost management)
• You have strong system design skills with a pragmatic approach to scalable architecture
• You have a good knowledge of modern AI tooling (e.g. LangChain, PydanticAI, MLflow or similar)
• You have a good understanding of AWS, Kubernetes and CI/CD
• You are collaborative and have fluent English language skills
