Job Description

Audio Programmer / C++ Software Engineer (Games VR C++ Unreal Unity APIs). World-leading games development company is seeking a skilled Audio Programmer to take ownership of critical features across an exciting range of projects.

You'll be part of the team that have harnessed the power of Unreal Engine 4 to create world-renowned, award-winning games. As an Audio Programmer you'll be taking this operation to the next level, joining their mission to carve a unique, disruptive and revolutionary path in the games industry.

As an Audio Programmer you'll be working with an up-to-the-minute tech stack, including UE4, Unity and bespoke APIs to develop and maintain cutting edge workflows, tools and pipelines to optimise efficiency. You'll partner with the Audio Director, Tech Director and Sound Designers to assess audio feature requirements and create new and update existing game systems, from player facing code to production use. They predominantly code in C++, so strong experience with this is essential.

In this Audio Programmer role you'll also be granted the freedom to innovate in emerging areas such as spatial audio, collaborating with other disciplines across the business to deliver the highest quality unified player experience possible.

Requirements:
*You're highly proficient in C++
*You have experience of audio middleware such as Wwise or FMOD
*Ideally you will have a good knowledge of game engines such as Unreal Engine 4 or Unity
*You're a passionate technologist who has a strong desire to innovate and improve with new and emerging technologies, like spatial audio technologies and APIs
*You're confident when stepping into a leadership role and promote a clear technical strategy
*Desirable: knowledge of SDK and requirements of PS4, XB One, PC / other consoles
