Job Description

Backend Software Engineer / Developer (Node Golang Elixir Real-time) *Remote interview WFH*. Would you like to be solving hard distributed system problems that are mostly platform agnostic and theoretical in nature; working with a highly talented team of technologists in an Agile environment with flexible working (including working from home)?

As a Backend Software Engineer you'll collaborate to design and develop new features and improvements to the core platform - a distributed, real-time engine integrated to clients to enable things such as Live Chat, real-time scoring, real-time location tracking, live documentation sharing, MMO games and eLearning to name but a few.

The platform is written in Node with elements of Golang and Elixir; you'll use a range of technology which is constantly under review, you'll be able to suggest new technologies and contribute to open source projects that the company supports or integrates into the product.

The company is able to offer a completely remote interview and onboarding process as well as fulltime work from home from anywhere in the UK; you'll collaborate via Slack (there may be occasional visits to the office in North London required, for team meet-ups, tech talks, lunch and learn events etc. when social distancing is over although this isn't essential).

Requirements:
*You have advanced knowledge of software engineering best practice, Computer Science fundamentals and experience with a range of languages (OOP e.g. C++, Java, C#)
*You have strong Node.js experience; Golang and / or Elixir also beneficial
*You have a indepth understanding of Distributed Systems engineering
*You have full lifecycle development experience including testing
*You're an advocate of clean, well written code
*You're a technologist and likely to contribute to the open source community
*You have excellent communication and collaboration skills

As a Backend Software Engineer you will earn a competitive salary (to £100k) plus benefits.
