Job Description

DevOps Engineer / Software Developer (SRE Ruby AWS Data). One of the largest data-streaming companies in the world is seeking a DevOps Engineer to enhance their capabilities as they build the infrastructure to power and shape the future of the internet. They are responsible for streaming billions of real-time messages to millions of end-users for thousands of developers across the world.

They are seeking a truly tech-driven individual, keen to get stuck at granular level, building solutions to enhance availability, performance and stability of the core cutting edge platform as well as taking ownership of developing new network services. You'll have the chance to collaborate with other highly talented engineers to resolve problems at internet scale, optimsing the efficiency and output of a market-leading organisation.

This DevOps Engineer role you will be working with an up-to-the-minute infrastructure stack. You'll also be granted the freedom to take ownership of the code of the full development lifecycle of the features you work on, from the initial stages through to the global rollout.

Day to day you'll be writing code for infrastructure automation, orchestration, configuration and CI testing and making extensive use of a wide range of AWS services. You'll have the chance to collaborate with the wider engineering team to design and implement new features and services.

*You have professional scripting / coding experience with Ruby
*You have experience working with AWS (or other cloud providers)
*You have a solid background working with Linux
*You have experience working with data services (e.g. Cassandra)
*You are a positive team player, committed to delivering scalable, high quality code
*Beneficial: you're a passionate techy and have contributed in some capacity to the open source community
