Job Description
As a DevOps Engineer you'll work as part of a small team focussing on evolving the existing DevOps solutions to support ongoing project development activities based around a Jenkins CI pipeline and POC / implementation of a multi-region cloud platform (AWS) monitoring solution.
Typically you'll be supporting the management, maintenance and development of infrastructure on existing projects and designing, deploying and maintaining infrastructure for new projects that support the development team with IaC and CI/CD. You'll be using a range of modern tools and technologies including Kubernetes, Terraform and Ansible and able to assess and recommend new and emerging tools to add to the stack where appropriate.
The company works with stakeholders across the energy sector (consumers, industry, academia and government) to identify innovation priorities, gaps in the market and overcome barriers to accelerating the decarbonisation of the energy system at the lowest cost.
There's currently a remote interview and onboarding process as well as the ability to work from home; in time you'll be joining a friendly, relaxed team based in Central Birmingham one day a week (10 minute walk from 3 mainline stations), with continued flexibility to work from home 4 days a week.
Requirements:
*You have experience as a DevOps Engineer
*You have a good knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes
*You have experience with Continuous Delivery pipelines
*You have a good working knowledge of Linux OS
*Experience with any of the following would be an advantage (but not essential): Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra, Spark, Kafka
*You're collaborative with strong communication skills
