Job Description

Junior Software Developer / Engineer *Remote Interview WfH*. Would you like to progress your career working on a Tech for Good product?

You could be joining a start-up software house that is producing a platform that enables easier money transfer to people in emerging economies (mainly Africa at the moment) that do not have access to a bank account; they're helping charities and relatives to get money to communities where it is needed using sophisticated technology.

As a Junior Software Developer you will work on new features and enhancements to the core payment gateway / API; you'll research and create innovative solutions to meet the challenges of delivering technology in developing countries and work with partners across the globe to add new countries and payment methods to the platform.

There's a modern tech stack including Java, Kotlin, Python, AWS, PostgreSQL, AWS, Terraform and Ansible with JavaScript and React in the front end, you'll mainly focus on Java and Kotlin but will gain exposure to the rest of the stack too in a collaborative Agile team environment.

There's currently a remote interview and onboarding process as well as the ability to work from home; in time you'll join colleagues in the Sutton office with continued flexibility to work from home 2-3 days a week.

Requirements:
*You have commercial Java development experience, Kotlin also nice to have as you'll be using it going forward
*You're a keen technologist keen to stay up to date with new and emerging technologies, continually learn and use a range of programming languages
*You have a good knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL ideally
*You're collaborative and keen to work in start-up environment creating tech for good; you're genuinely excited about working for a company who is helping people in emerging economies and are likely to do volunteer / charity work
*You're likely to be degree educated, Computer Science preferred
