Job Description
As a Support Engineer you'll handle 3rd line escalations from the Helpdesk Support Team and pro-actively seek ways to enhance the platform, providing stability, pipeline automation and low level debugging on Linux Operating Systems.
You'll join an Agile team working on a wide variety of projects with a diverse toolset and will be able to take ownership and run your own projects, working fairly autonomously on new ideas you'll see the effect of your work and be a key contributor to a global product at the forefront of technology.
You can work from home 1-2 days a week, when you are in the office you'll be based in Cambridge (about a 20 minute walk from the local station and with regular shuttle bus; there's also parking available) and a range of perks including free top quality catered lunch every Friday, social activities ranging from sports to board game nights; breakout areas and solo pods.
There are no on-call requirements with this Support Engineer role so you'll be working normal office hours, Monday to Friday.
Requirements:
*You have commercial experience of supporting Linux systems
*You're able to script to automate solutions to common problems (e.g. bash, Python)
*You have a good understanding of basic networking protocols e.g. TCP/IP, OSI model
*You're familiar with configuration management tools
*You're collaborative with good communication skills
