Your role:

As a C++ Software Engineer / Team Lead you will remain hands-on with architecture, design and coding whilst also providing technical and team leadership to a small, talented team responsible for the firms real-time Hedging and Risk Systems.

You will be instrumental in defining and delivering a clear team vision, aligning stakeholder needs with a forward looking technology roadmap that supports long term growth and innovation.

A key focus will be the modernisation of legacy core systems, improving engineering maturity and enabling more frequent releases with minimal downtime. You'll foster a collaborative and resilient team culture, promoting trust, positivity and shared accountability, while empowering engineers to take ownership of their work and development.

Collaborating closely with stakeholders and senior leadership, you will ensure that initiatives are well planned, clearly defined and delivered on time and within budget. As a hands-on leader, you will actively contribute to development using C++ and have some experience with Python, remaining close to the technology and leading by example.

In addition, you will champion innovation across the team while maintaining the stability and performance of critical systems. You will set the standard for operational excellence, ensuring services consistently meet agreed SLOs and SLAs, and that the team is well-equipped to support them effectively.

About you:

• You have a strong knowledge of the latest C++ standards and modern software design practices and principles
• You have experience with, or are keen to learn, Python
• You have experience within a Risk management environment, ideally with experience of trading, exposure / risk and hedging execution
• You have experience of renovating legacy systems whilst concurrently delivering on new projects
• You have excellent collaboration, leadership and stakeholder management skills
