Chief Architect (eCommerce Platform) Amsterdam / WFH to €190,000

Do you have significant experience with software engineering and architecture?

You could be progressing your career in an impactful role at a hugely successful European eCommerce with a customer base of over 7 million.

As the Chief Architect you will play a vital role in brining together the company's systems into a centralised platform, leading the vision and defining and driving the architectural strategy of the next-generation platform. You'll translate business objectives into a robust technology roadmap, balancing value creation with technical debt management.

You will analyse industry trends and emerging technologies to inform platform strategy, lead the design and evolution of platform architecture ensuring scalability, performance and adherence to best practices, providing guidance and leadership to engineering teams during implementation.

Location / WFH:

You'll join the team in the Amsterdam office, collaborating as part of a diverse, international team with flexibility to work from home two days a week.

About you:

• You have significant experience with software engineering and architecture, ideally on eCommerce platforms (or other large scale)
• You have strong experience of designing and implementing scalable, high performance and secure systems
• You are able to influence teams and Principal Engineers without direct reports
• You have a deep understanding of modern architectural patterns, including microservices and cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), databases (SQL and NoSQL), containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• You are a keen technologist who keeps up to date with emerging technology and industry trends
