Head of Technology Madrid / WFH to £170k+

As Head of Technology for the newly established Emerging Markets division you'll collaborate closely with the Head of Emerging Markets to build a technology team (c25-50) to deliver the commercial strategy, which you will help to form. As a new function for the business, they'll be lots of ambiguity and changing priorities, you'll be responsible for ensuring technical excellence and efficient delivery of strategic technology systems.

Location / WFH:

There's a hybrid model with two days a week work from home, when you are in the office you'll be based in Madrid with an upbeat team environment, casual dress code and a range of facilities.

About you:

• You are an experienced leader who is still close to technology with a strong understanding of modern software engineering best practices and experience of building secure, performant, scalable, observable and resilient systems with robust and accessible APIs
• You have strong leadership skills and can drive developer productivity including recruiting, coaching and mentoring the engineers in your team to deliver technical excellence
• You have advanced communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
• You have a strong technology background including Java, SpringBoot, an understanding of C++, public cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), DevOps environments and Containerisation is also of benefit
• You have experience of working within a financial services / trading environment and strong commercial acumen
• You have fluent English language skills
