You could be joining an Oxford based software house whose software is used across the globe for the oil and gas production industry to optimise processes and maximise profits.

Your role:

As a Scientific Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing core components for the company's flagship product that is used by the energy sector to model fluid dynamics and greenhouse gases in oil reservoirs. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle and product design discussions, participating in peer code reviews and collaboratively problem solving within a highly technical and scientific environment.

WFH policy:

The company is based in Oxford however, you can work remotely up to 3 days a week.

Requirements:

  • You have excellent engineering and mathematical skills and hold a 2:1 or above degree in a scientific subject (such as Physics) - likely to have studied to PhD level, although not essential
  • You have solid scientific programming skills using C++
  • You have experience of implementing algorithms and using numerical methods
  • You have strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills
