Senior Java Developer / Technical Lead (Spring SQL) Malta to €70,000

Are you a Senior Java Developer with leadership skills seeking an opportunity to progress your career with more management responsibilities?

You could be progressing your career in a hands-on Senior Java Developer / Technical Lead role at one of Malta's leading telecommunications providers.

As a Senior Java Developer / Technical Lead you will provide technical project leadership in teams of 3-4 engineers whilst remaining hands-on with the code. There's a variety of projects, with a focus on backend development, including Greenfield work, you'll help keep the team on track, providing technical direction and providing coaching and mentoring to more junior team members in a collaborative Agile development environment.

Location / WFH:

You'll join a collaborative, upbeat team based in Birkirkara, Malta with flexibility to work from home two days a week.

About you:

• You have strong Java and Spring backend development skills
• You are collaborative and have some mentoring and coaching experience
• You have experience of leading projects, a good understanding of the full development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
• You have a good understanding of software engineering best practices and Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns
• You have a good knowledge of databases: SQL, MySQL
• You have experience of working on modern software engineering environments with DevOps, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Cloud based systems
• You have fluent English language skills
