Senior Network Security Engineer New York to $350,000

You could be progressing your career, in a senior, hands-on Network Security Engineer role at a leading Quantitative Trading firm.

As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Security team to run, scale and continuously improve the network infrastructure through hands-on operations, testing and automation. You'll be working on distributed systems built on a versatile, highly reliable, multi-vendor network infrastructure using modern tools and driving the use of automation and monitoring.

You'll collaborate across teams and with traders to enable business workflows in secure ways, contribute to in-house configuration and policy management tooling, evaluate and lab test new platforms and implement supporting software solutions.

With fantastic offices based in New York, you will be part of a flat structured and open company that offer a great working environment. About you:

• You are an experienced Network Engineer now with a security focus
• You have a deep knowledge of the TCP/IP stack, routing technologies such as BGP, OSPF, PIM-SM and are skilled at troubleshooting transport protocols (TCP / UDP)
• You have strong programming skills in an OO language (e.g. Python, Java, Golang, C++) and are an advocate of automation
• You have a strong understanding of modern encryption techniques
• You're up to date with modern network tooling and technology such as CoreWeave
• You have multi-vendor network experience e.g. Cisco, Palo Alto
• You're naturally curious and enjoy learning and critical thinking
• You're able to prioritise, manage your own workload and keep an eye on the teams' roadmap and long term objectives
• You have achieved a 2.1 or above from a top tier university (Ivy League) in a relevant discipline, Computer Science preferred and hold networking certifications
• You are a US citizen or hold a valid work permit
