Senior Software Engineer / Developer (Java AI) Krakow / WFH to 27,500 PLN p/month

Are you a Java technologist with a strong knowledge of AI and its practical uses within software engineering?

You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on Senior Software Engineer role at a global FinTech / CFD trading company that has been consistently voted as a top employer.

Your role:

As a Senior Software Engineer you will review and make improvements to Java based web trading applications across the organisation with challenges around scalability, security, performance and speed, looking to introduce AI innovation within the business. You will be using Claude code (and other AI tools and frameworks) throughout the development lifecycle from initial requirements shaping through to deployment to improve speed and efficiency of software development and release.

This is an influential role where you will work across product engineering teams to showcase processes and procedures with AI without cutting corners and ensuring compliance.

Location / WFH:

There's a hybrid model with two days a week work from home, when you are in the office you'll be based in the City with an upbeat team environment, casual dress code and a range of facilities including roof terrace, restaurant and break out areas.

About you:

• You have advanced backend Java development skills, including multithreading and garbage collection
• You have a strong foundation in Computer Science including OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns
• You have a good understanding of scalability and how best to optimise backend systems for speed / latency
• You have experience with Kafka (or similar) for data streaming and AWS cloud services
• Ideally you will used AI tools in a commercial enterprise e.g. Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, Prompt or Context engineering and be interested to learn and use more AI to improve efficiency and software delivery
• You have fluent English language skills
