Technical Operations Analyst Chicago / WFH to $170,000

Opportunity to progress your career in a hands-on role at a global proprietary algorithmic trading firm; you'll be working on complex and interesting systems as part of a collaborative team with a flat structure where everyone has their voice heard.

As a Technical Operations Analyst you will work on all things systems-related, from hardware and networking to software build, deployment, automation and tooling. You'll be part of a globally distributed team responsible for supporting low-latency electronic trading systems, collaborating with all functional areas within the firm.

Responsibilities will include:

• Building process management and monitoring toolkits leveraging scripting languages (Python preferred)
• Collaborating with development teams to improve the operational stability and functionality of existing and new trading systems
• Configuring and managing low-latency, high-availability trading systems, working closely alongside developers, quants and traders
• Co-ordinating, planning and executing firm-wide changes within a global change management framework

Location / WFH:

You can work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the Chicago office once a month.

The whole global team meet up twice a year for a week of networking, fun and team building.

About you:

• You have a strong understanding of Linux
• You have experience of triaging, prioritizing and troubleshooting complex network and systems issues, ranging from low-level hardware to in-house software applications
• You have a good understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, HTTP, TCP, UDP, etc
• You can demonstrate a high level of initiative and the ability to quickly build trust with trading and technology
• You have advanced communication and collaboration skills
• You are degree educated
