Windows System Engineer / Administrator USA to $200,000

You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on Windows System Engineer role at a global proprietary algorithmic trading firm; you'll be working on complex and interesting systems as part of a collaborative team with a flat structure where everyone has their voice heard.

As a Windows System Engineer you will oversee the operation and maintenance of critical trading systems, guaranteeing continuity and stability in the production trading environment. You'll administer and support Windows systems, including configuration management, patching, performance tuning and incident response and manage identity, endpoint and access platforms across the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and related services.

You'll collaborate with all teams across technology (architecture, design, network engineering, Help Desk / Desktop support, application development and support) to support global operations within a 24/7 environment. You will proactively troubleshoot complex issues, devising innovative solutions and proactively introducing improvements, enhancements and automation (using Python).

You will be a key player in delivering a reliable, high-quality trading environment as part of a diverse, globally distributed team.

Location / WFH:

The company has offices based in Chicago and New York, you could be based in either or alternatively you can work from home on a full-time basis (*please note you must be a US citizen or have the right to work and there are exceptions to which US State you can work in).

The whole global team meet up twice a year for a week of networking, fun and team building.

About you:

• You're degree educated to BSc level in Computer Science or closely related discipline, gained from an Ivy League university
• You are a US citizen or hold a Green Card / right to work in the USA
• You have an advanced knowledge of Windows architecture, deployment, administration, networking performance / monitoring, security hardening, troubleshooting and production operations
• You have a thorough understanding of Windows Server 2019/2022, Windows 7 and Windows 10 desktop operating systems
• You have a strong knowledge of Active Directory and recent versions of Microsoft Exchange (Exchange 2019/Online advantageous)
• You have system configuration experience (SMS, Altiris, PowerShell) and a good working knowledge of Virtualisation (Hyper-V, VMWare)

• You have excellent organisation, planning and English language communication skills
