Senior IT Support Engineer / DevOps (2nd / 3rd line). Would you like to work on complex and interesting systems and make a real impact whilst remaining hands on with technology and enjoying a good work / life balance with flexible working?
As a Senior IT Support Engineer you will be responsible for 2nd / 3rd technical support on a key financial product. Collaborating with a small team you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex problems; customer problems could be related to database performance, code defects, application configuration, networking, platform and hardware configuration. You'll gather data, carryout tests, replicate problems and use diagnostic tools to resolve problems quickly and efficiently ensuring that all cases are documented and regularly update stakeholders.
You will be based in Reigate in modern, open plan offices within a five minute walk of the station; there's a smart casual dress code and a good work / life balance.
*Experience in a technical product / customer support role
*Technical troubleshooting experience; ability to diagnose log files and simulate problems
*Strong UNIX and Oracle database experience
*SQL and Shell scripting
*Good platform knowledge: UNIX, Windows, Apache Web Server
*Strong analysis and problem solving skills
*Excellent communication and organisation skills
