Technical Operations Analyst Chicago / WFH to $170,000

Opportunity to progress your career in a hands-on role at a global proprietary algorithmic trading firm; you'll be working on complex and interesting systems as part of a collaborative team with a flat structure where everyone has their voice heard.

As a Technical Operations Analyst you will work on all things systems-related, from hardware and networking to software build, deployment, automation and tooling. You'll be part of a globally distributed team responsible for supporting low-latency electronic trading systems, collaborating with all functional areas within the firm.

Responsibilities will include:

Building process management and monitoring toolkits leveraging scripting languages (Python preferred)
Collaborating with development teams to improve the operational stability and functionality of existing and new trading systems
Configuring and managing low-latency, high-availability trading systems, working closely alongside developers, quants and traders
Co-ordinating, planning and executing firm-wide changes within a global change management framework

Location / WFH:

You can work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the Chicago office once a month.

The whole global team meet up twice a year for a week of networking, fun and team building.

About you:

You have a strong understanding of Linux
You have experience of triaging, prioritizing and troubleshooting complex network and systems issues, ranging from low-level hardware to in-house software applications
You have a good understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, HTTP, TCP, UDP, etc
You can demonstrate a high level of initiative and the ability to quickly build trust with trading and technology
You have advanced communication and collaboration skills
You are degree educated
