Senior Data Platform Engineer (Python AWS) London / WFH to £90k

Are you a technologist Data Engineer?

You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on technical role at a SaaS FinTech; their capital market tools are used by Investment Banks and independent research providers to automate and analyse client service and research consumption, presenting a complete overview of the client relationship made available via the Cloud.

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you'll lead the design and evolution of scalable analytics platforms, ETL pipelines and workflow orchestration systems that power product insights and AI-driven capabilities.

This is a hands-on role focused on modernising legacy systems, reducing technical debt and transitioning services into a high-performance, serverless AWS architecture.

What You'll Do:

• Design and scale data platforms, analytics pipelines, and ETL workflows
• Build robust, production-grade services using Python and AWS
• Develop high-throughput APIs and scalable data infrastructure
• Improve reliability, observability, performance, and operational efficiency
• Support AI and machine learning initiatives with strong data foundations
• Drive architecture decisions and modernisation strategies across the platform

About you:

• You have strong experience with Python and AWS cloud technologies - including Amazon CDK
• You have expertise in data platforms, analytics infrastructure and ETL orchestration (they use Luigi so experience with that is beneficial)
• You have experience of moving data / ML solutions into production environments
• You have a strong understanding of scalability, latency, reliability and observability
• You're collaborative, comfortable mentoring others, provide technical direction and communicating with senior stakeholders
• You have achieved a 2.1 or above in a STEM discipline
