Junior Data Engineer (Python SQL) London onsite to £70k

Are you a bright, ambitious Data Engineer with a first class Computer Science education?

You could be joining a specialist Hedge Fund and working on long term strategic projects which involve implementing quantitative statistical models that are used to forecast elements of demand and supply of energy for European markets.

As a Junior Data Engineer you will join a small, highly talented team to build pipelines, identify anomalies, align formats and symbology, automate ETL processes and streamline data workflows to enable research and trading teams to derive meaningful insights. You'll be working with Python, SQL and Airflow and will be supported and mentored to learn on the job, continually upskilling within a collaborative team environment.

Location / WFH:

You'll be working in a collegiate team environment based in London with a small group of accomplished software / data engineers and finance entrepreneurs.

About you:

• You have an excellent academic record of achievement; 2.1 or above at BSc, from a Russel Group university, Computer Science strongly preferred
• You have commercial experience in a similar role (this must be fulltime but could be an internship)
• You have Python programming skills, Airflow experience would also be of benefit but not necessary
• You have strong SQL skills
• You have experience of creating data visualisations to convey valuable data insights
• You have excellent communication skills
• You're motivated to learn
