Senior Database Administrator / DBA (Oracle SQL) Newcastle onsite to £100k

Are you a Senior Database Administrator looking for an opportunity to progress your career, working on complex and interesting systems in an impactful role?

You could be joining a FinTech start-up as a founding member, they have secure backing and an established Hedge Fund client as a partner.

As a Senior Database Administrator / DBA you'll work with a small team responsible for maintaining on-premise Oracle and SQL databases, including upgrades, high availability backup administration, monitoring, optimisations of servers as well as SQL code and procedures. You'll collaborate with software engineers and business stakeholders to improve the use of schemas, performant stored procedures, views, functions etc., providing subject matter expertise on business critical systems.

Location / WFH:

You'll join colleagues in Central Newcastle offices on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday).

About you:

• You're a technologist who enjoys collaborating and problem solving, working on complex, distributed systems
• You have expertise with Database Administration - you could come from an Oracle or SQL background
• You have experience of interrogating data stores and schema, investigating the results and providing solutions to improve performance
• Ideally you will be familiar with Azure SQL Server, Data Lakes and other data related cloud technologies
• You're likely to be degree educated in a STEM discipline
